These accreditation standards can vary given what kind of entity is trying to get accreditation, for example, the standards and criterion of recognition for a corporate will be completely different from the criterion on which an individual or an educational institute will be evaluated. Also, these standards may vary from region to region or on national basis. The set of quality standards which are followed by any institution within a country will be defined as national accreditation procedures. If the accreditation seeking institute competes with international institutions for acquiring international quality standards then it will be defined as regional accreditation or international accreditation.IAO, a well known quality assurance agency abides by international standards of accreditation so that all of its members can be duly recognized among the international community as certified bodies, bearing international standards of high quality. International Accreditation Organization provides institutions, schools, universities, organizations and individuals with guidelines and methods to achieve top quality; ways for maintaining it, as well as strategies on how to further improve it. IAO provides international accreditation. The system for accreditation followed by IAO is flexible enough to accommodate a broad range of points and standards on which evaluation of any accreditation seeking institute takes place. For example, assessment of colleges and institutions differing from one another in size, organization and aims, backup plan and command. Standards for accreditation include all the functions and processes which are vital for the establishment and working of the institution or any foundation, these standards also include the instituteâ€™s mission, aim and objective, evaluation and preparation, organizational administration, programs they offer, equipment, library, data resources and the environment provided. IAO, however, does not override the standards of national accreditation, laid by the national accreditation board, in order to achieve international accreditation.
